The Importance Of Time Management At Work And Home

Today’s nurse leadership is practiced in a very complex environment. This leads to the potential for moral distress arising from constrains in achieving optimal goal. (Edmonson,2010).Time management is indispensible to successful results since it enables a leader plan and organize each day’s activity to achieve the best results within a specific period . According to Wysocki and Kepner (2012), prioritizing task , getting work done in the right way the first time, making deliberate effort not to waste time , delegating task to appropriate personnel and avoiding procrastination is the five main sure tips to improve time management. In my daily life, I am usually hard pressed by time and constantly struggle to get my work done in time. I therefore acknowledge the importance of time management and the need to improve my time management skills in order to function effectively, both at work and home. I will therefore use the plan do check act (PDCA) as a guide on how to manage my time by developing a plan of action , collecting data on my daily activities and analyzing the data and how effective the plan will be. PLAN I will give myself 0-20 minutes of time to review the activities of the day and organize which of my clients are due for home visit, how many patients to visit in a day and which geographical area to start with as well as the order of the visit .
